PLEASE HELP!

Please send any news clippings, copies of photographs, personal rememberances,
scapbook entries, boxscores,  in short,  anything related to
the Alabama-Florida League or minor league and/or semi pro baseball in Alabama,
Georgia, or the Florida Panhandle. This site’s mission is to preserve the history
of minor league baseball in the deep south.  I am interested in any
information, no matter how minor.

Help keep the memory alive!

What’s New??
If it seems like I’ve been doing fewer updates recently, it’s not your imagination.
Yes, I’ve been slow to add new pages and reformat old ones, but its for
a good reason: I’ve been working on
The Encyclopedia Of The Alabama-Florida League.  This book will be the utlimate record of the league, including stats for every
player, every team, every year of the league’s existence.  Also included
will be information about  the managers, umpires, owners, reporters, and
anyone else that was part of the AFL. Career and single season batting and pitching
leaders will be included too. In short, I hope to succeed in the goal former
Pensacola Dons owner, Fred Davis,  set out to achieve in the 1960’s:
Record in book form the complete history of the league.

Of course,
to accomplish this, I’ve got to spend quite a bit of time, much of which
I used to devote to updating this site, researching, compiling, and reviewing
the mountain of data I’ve accumulated.  I will, of course, continue to update
this website with photos, interviews, articles, etc, just a few less pages
a month.

As of October, 2004, I’ve completed the team and player stats
for all seasons through 1948. The box to the right will keep you posted as
to how far I’ve progressed.  In the meantime, keep those clippings and pictures
coming in!!

PROGRESS ON THE AFL  BOOK:
*  1950 team and  players records begun.

* Umpire records begun
