Carl East played three games in the majors, one with the St. Louis
Browns and two with Washington. More importantly, East was president
of the neighboring Georgia-Alabama League, and an excellent minor
league player. In 1930, East hit an amazing .433 while playing
with Anniston in Georgia-Alabama League. Anniston was the team
where years earlier a young Ty Cobb made a name for himself. Thanks
