Peanut Stadium,
Headland, Alabama
J.J. Yarborough Stadium, the home of Headland High School football, is built within
the walls that made up Peanut Stadium. The wall above went from home to the
right field corner.

The left field wall in the distance, covered with over growth, is where the infamous
« phantom home run » landed that resulted in Chase Riddle’s suspension in 1951.
The ticket boxes of Peanut Stadium were built with short people in mind.  You
had to duck to look in the windows.

was fatally struck with a pitch in 1951.
