Alabama Florida League Hall Of Fame: Contracts – David Fisher

Player Contracts:
David Fisher – Class C Contract
Thanks Todd Fisher
David Fisher played for Graceville in 1957. Because of his success there, he was
offered this contract to play for the
Wausau Lumberjacks of the Northern League
for the 1958 season. Although the contract is signed, Fisher decided to
quit
baseball and raise a family. Cincinnati Reds’ scout, and later Cleveland
Indians’ General Manager, Phil Seghi, told Fisher he
might make it to the
majors but probably in a utility roll at best. Fisher, having a college education,
opted wisely for a
job in the real world, and as his son Todd states,
« became a major league husband and father ».
